Help and support for Ultimate Edition 2.5

Some noob ?'s about installing and setting up

Postby 6speed » Wed Mar 17, 2010 7:50 pm

A few days ago I dual booted Ubuntu 9.10 and my already installed windows 7. This is my first time using any Linux based OS's. I've been very interested in some of the graphical abilities of Ubuntu with compiz. I was able to get the cube/sphere thing working fine but haven't tried(or know how to) get things like when you open a menu it has an animation. Do you think it would be easier to just keep going with Ubuntu or to install Ultimate Edition 2.5? When I install Ultimate Edition 2.5 are all those cool graphical things already be applied? If not how do I do that? And lastly when I installed Ubuntu it was pretty painless, but when I got to install Ultimate Edition 2.5 it just runs like LiveCD. Do I just need to double click the install Ubuntu 9.10 o the desktop? Or should I format that partition and start a new? Sorry for all the questions, and thanks in advance.

in the upper left hand corner of the live cd you will find the install for Ultimate Edition and it is very painless. and as far as the comparison between Ultimate Edition and ubuntu everything that is good in ubuntu is in Ultimate Edition the same or better. i myself am new to linux. i loaded ubuntu and it left me wanting. so i searched the net for other disrtros. i tryed 6 and they were called the best rated and beginner lvl ability. out of those distros 2 cost me a total reformat of my whole 1tb HD and it is partitioned. anyway Ultimate Edition is so far beyond those others for us beginners and the pros that you will always feel comfortable here. when you load it up get yer updates dive into ultramax it will help you get the look yer looking for.
rest come here and ask this is a well monitored site and you usually get yer answers quick.
