Yes it is running fine now.
There must have been something from install kernel or module that was causing the [problem.

I started having the same disconnect problem again. 8 (
(With changes or updates to my Ultimate Edition 2.5)
And I recalled a 'tweak' I did to Ubuntu 9.10 that helped
apt-get install linux-backports-modules-karmic linux-backports-modules-wireless-karmic-generic
I had that idea from Ubuntu forum:

So I tried this, and my signal strength shows a good bit stronger.
I will post back in a couple of days.
