Help and support for Ultimate Edition 2.5

Answer Ask !!!

Postby LuCiFeR---> » Fri Feb 26, 2010 10:02 am

Hi at alls !! My question is simple.

What the difference between 2.4 gamers and 2.5 non-gamer edition ????

My real question is.... Did i can install urban terror on the 2.5 edition and have the same performance than the 2.4 gamer edition ????

Better to use 2.4 ???? I win someting special if i use the new 2.5 ????

Did i lost something important from the 2.5 to the 2.4 ???

I don't see any changelog anywhere in different part of all your board.

Maybe try to put all information for a specific edition togheter can help people to see the difference and don't ask stupid question like mine after.

Welcome to Ultimate Edition...since I have not ran 2.4 gamers....can only tell you it does include alot of games...
2.5 is based on the most recent stable Ubuntu...now with that in mind, with Ultimatix....you can install any of the games you want. 2.5 is also offered in 32 bit, 64 bit, and 86 bit...since i dont play games to much in Ultimate Edition...and am running 86 bit....which does scream.....Urban Terror did install through Ultimatix.....so I do not know how well games play
Ubuntu releases a new edition of it's OS every six months.... https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases
TheeMahn shortly after releases, ours.....hence 2.4 was in Ubuntu as 9.4,...2.5 was 9.10 in Ubuntu.......
It's your call on what you want.......
Because we dont know your system specs....... ;)

Thanks for the answer Cowboy !!

I have a good PC at the moment. Maybe not the last extreme class performer, but at least.. a Quad Core Q6600, 4gig memory and an ATi HD4870X2 with 2 gig memory.

I can normally install anything on it without any problem.

I probably gonna get a try to the 2.5 edition X64, since i know we have possibility to have the same thing than the 2.4 at final.

My only interrogation now is How i gonna install all this.......

I'M a high gamer, so i have to keep Windows 7 near in the corner.

And i already have plan to install OpenBSD in dual boot.

So NoW..... I ask myself if i gonna get try to install Ultimate-Edition 2.5 in virtual envirronement or if i really gonna use it at a Triple Boot Choice.

Many problem occur.... i think that Open BSD require to be the first physical partition on the HDD, but i also know that when installing Linux somewhere, you normally better install Windows before it.

I don't know if Ultimate edition 2.5 have special requirment to be place at a specific place on primary partition.

I gonna have to read a little about it or ask some more question on this forum i think. lol

In Anyway, thanks for the answer and help.

this is a program if in Vista will repair your windows OS boot
http://www.supergrubdisk.org/
this is a program that everyone should have for any kind of mess up....it will get into your windows or Linux and help you repair it.
with the first program listed...easybcd... you will save your windows install, it will repair your windows boot....but it does have to be installed...supergrub will help you boot into windows

I use Win7,Ultimate Edition,and some other os's.

I just put em on their own drive(while the others are out of my case,or unplugged),and use the bios to boot.Skips grub, and I know what drive I choose to boot will boot. Its no slower,or faster than using grub to boot.

I do this because I know it works...all the time.I have had no problems using grub2 to boot either, but choose not to because of other user's issues. If I remember right even when I told grub2 about my other os's I was still able to boot each drive I choose using the bios.

Its simple,and it works.

I do the same also...not a hassle, do know my other installs are safe...to reinstall either XP pro or Vista Ultimate on my other HD's is not fun.. ;)
