I am agreeing with many posts dropped by admin as this is in my unbiased opinion the culprit. Try a single hard disk and Ultimate Edition 2.5, please post results. If it fixes your issue I can walk you through setting up grub and multiple O/S's. Ultimate Edition 2.5 btw uses grub 2... adding a windows drive is as follows, I will not take credit from Eric, I know I recently had to do the same.

Let me know if a single drive squashes your issues, if so I can walk you though adding the other drives & I do not care if they use an earlier version of grub.

Hey guys. Sorry i haven't relayed yet. RL is keeping me busy.
And thank you TehMan for even bothering on cementing on my dire problem.

Hers what i have tried so far.
Disconnection any and all usb cables and internal hard disk whit the exemption of my G15 logitec usb keyboard and my Samsung externals Usb DVD burner Loading up the 2.5 DVD and no luck. Just got the same terminal as before.
In the terminal i wrote startx and no luck. I did get a X error massage saying (Sorry no screen found) and (cant start VESA) or something like that... lots of writing that passes by....
At the moment i am waiting for a Memtest to complete as who knows,,, it might be the ram.... 64% ... takes ages that one.
Next im gona try loading 2.5 whit the USB DVD rom on this Aspire one and see if that works.
I did get 2.5 loaded on it whit the USB so who knows... it might work whit the USB DVD rom and if so then that cant be the problem.
Sight... 66%
Does the DVDrom have to be connected to do the memtest? if not then i could start whit the next test.
Yes i can btw. next test started.

This is written in the 2.5 Ultimate Edition
Memtest finished no errors
2.5 loaded to my Aspire one whit the USB dvd rom Flawlessly.

What do i do now?

A few more questions if I may,
reading through these posts, are you trying to boot into Ultimate Edition 2.5 from an internal DVD drive or external? I'm not quite clear on that. If trying external, just for the sake of it try going into your BIOS settings and hopefully in the area where you set your boot priority options it will give you the option of USB HDD, USB Optical/DVD, USB Floppy etc.. Even though you are using an optical, change the settings around as though it was a USB Flash drive...etc. Try all the settings one by one.
Alternatively, if it is a graphics issue, does your mainboard have onboard graphics? ie, can you remove your video card and try again with just on board graphics?

We're still hanging in there..stay with us.

Thank you for responding.
About the external dvd rom i have.
It is connected by usb.
It work just ok i suppose.
I loaded in to 2.3 Ultimate Edition and the install was whit out errors.
When i load 2.5 Ultimate Edition it loads just normal.
The selection on how to boot, language, keyboard layout and all that is ok.
But half way it stops whit errors and gives me a Terminal.
The error massages dont relly help me as i dont understand it.
If i type inn startx one of the error massages tells me i dont have a monitor.
I have tried every bios setting that i know what does.
Bios settings i dont know what is i dont touch.
also i did whit my usb pen get inn to 2.3 Ultimate Edition live session.
But when i tried whit 2.5 i still got the same errors and then a terminal.

About the Graphic card
I only have the one Nvidia 7800GT.
I dont have onboard graphic

But we could try this:
Purge graphic drivers and installing newer or older version of the Nvidia drivers and see if that will let me startx.
But then i need a "how to"

Well that or just wait for 2.6UE
I did install 2.3 Ultimate Edition

Hello empleyfire.

few things for you to help you out here.

1- If you can add you BIOS screen shot to the post we can help you out here.
2- did you try to install in safe mod?
this will give you the default Driver to boot the system up,
After the installation process you will get the option to install the best Driver for your card.
3- About startx - try sudo startx.
4- In your BIOS on the First option to boot from USB - you need to go to the Advance
of the boot - and OR with the - + key add the USB to be your first boot option,
then HDD - Disable the 3 option until you will end the installation process.
5- your problem here is with the USB Mount manger in the beginning+Mount for the USB.
so the best option that I can see is to go to the BIOS first and change the boot manager.
6- The real issue that you have now - is that your battery on the board hold the configuration
with all of your HDD!
the solution for it is to unplug your main (black)power cable from your machine,
then you need to get wire from your telephone line (with or blue) just one of them
like 10-15 cm and cut the plastic from the 2 ends of the wire - so the Fibres will be out
from bout sides.
then get the battery from your board out and connect from bout sides the wire for 7 sec!!!
not one sec less or more = 7 sec!!!

then add the battery back to your board and connect back the main (black)power to your machine.
This process will reset your board to get 0 Address on the battery.
So when you will boot up your machine -all the hardware will get new Address on the battery to save!
then you will be able to get your USB to work.
GOOD LUCK.

1: Witch part of the BIOS do you need to know about?
2: Yes
3: It does not know what that is. (missing)?
Same usb boots fine on acer aspire one
4: Yeah i can press a F12 F11 or F8 That gives me the boot from screen.
From there i can chose witch medium i want to boot from.
5: Que? Booting from usb works fine.
6: I'm not doing that.
My computer works fine whit WinXp or Ultimate Edition 2.3
I'm not cutting any cables inside it unless i have to.
Can't afford to buy a new one.
If the information inn the BIOS needs to be erased why don't i just remove power cable and the CMOS Battery?

Inn general i don't like messing around inside the PC box unless i have to.

What Bios settings can effect a linux boot?

Any thing that has to do with memory/bios cache,or swamp....turn it off.At least I had to.Don't know why it worked before, but when I tried the new Karmic with those setting on it would not boot the live disk,or a usb.I did find an article on the "bug" so a good google search should turn up an explanation.

Keep in mind tho some mobo bois's do not have these options.I use an DFI mobo that has a hundred more options than most mobo's that I care about.

So as a rule...turn off anything that has to do with a cache/swamp.It might just boot up.
