I know this may sound silly....even though your DVD is correct on the verification...have you tried burning another one..? Have you switched brands of DVD's...?
I have burned a few DVD's with my external LG and my internal would not read it all..

If you have the option of memory swamp(you didn't mention it) turn it off also.I took a look at your owners manual for you board on page 12 it tells how to reset the bios....give it a try,and don't forget to set the clock after wards in the bios.

Turn off the lba mode for your drive(s) also.
Make sure hyperthreading is set to auto.
Then set what you want to boot from.
select your graphics-either agp,or pci.

one other thing...check your power supply voltage in the bios.A power supply going south will cause nothing but trouble.

I can't think of any thing else for now...sometimes I wish I can fly out to trouble shoot theses things.Cowboy is right also.if you use dvd's sometimes the media is...well crap.I always use a rw dvd for my os's,and never had a problem.

Hypertrading is ON

Graphic is on AGP only.

About the power supply... i don't know whats normal..
When i built this computer i saw it like playing whit Lego's...

When you boot the live usb does it do anything,or is the screen blank?

It starts to load normal except it stops half way and drops to a command line (or terminal)
