More than likely Your system is being "force checked" drop to recovery mode from GRUB screen after that loads you should see a message "system has been mounted XX number of times" and at the you will see a scroll starting, let that finish and re boot, This happens every 25-45 boot's you may bypass this by taping and hold the "esc" key as system stalls ! ;) :ugeek:

Sometimes a reinstall is the answer......there is times an update will bork your system...kind of why I keep 3 kernels checked...

Hi, how do you do a system check at boot i don't get a choice at grub it just jumps straight into the splash screen, and never gives me the option to choose a kernel.

cheers
