DVD Rom drive will not mount "Solved"

All kinds of trouble today..Now my dvd rom will not mount. I get the following message: Unable to mount location--mount: special device /dev/scd0 does not exist ...It works just fine in windows. Any ideas?

It's an internal DVD burner, sata interface....used to load Ultimate Edition, and works fine in windows. Shows up in "computer" as cdrom0, but will not read any cd's, dvd's, etc. gives the error message in opening post. Thanks

Just found a folder in file system named cdrom0 with a shortcut arrow coming from it. Could this be the problem? Also, about to go to bed...will check back in the morning. Thanks guys.

Hi kbozz71 - Glad your problem is sorted, even though you had to do a reload. Just for future reference, the shortcut that you are referring to above is quite normal. It was not the problem.

Actually, I found what caused the problem. I will explain, just in case this isn't specific to me only. I updated WINE to the newest beta (1.1.38 I believe?) and the installed the newest Play on Linux (version 3.7.2). After this, my dvd would not read or mount. In the computer folder it just showed up as cdrom0. It was showing as DVD/cdrom prior. Anyway, would not read anything. Like it wasn't even there. So I removed Play on Linux, and everything was back to normal. Wish I knew why, but glad I figured it out.
