see the problem with the softpedia how to for me was that the key it links to is "KDE43key" which when I imported it gave me the notice that KDE was already installed. But, yes, I think I will delete the bad repos and see if that helps

I used Blackwolf's "automatic" method and received the same error. I found that the "command line" given was looking at my Desktop for the downloaded file "launchpad-update". I simply changed the directory to the one currently holding my downloaded copy of the file, and all worked perfectly.
I am sure you probably caught that, but I thought I'd offer the suggestion just in case.... ;)

well I went to Ultimate Edition OZ, referenced "up thread" and found a solution that worked for me. Downloading and running the launchpad-update script seemed to have solved it.
