Error during installation ubuntu 2.5 (picture included)

ubuntu error.jpg[/attachment]hi guys, i have downloaded Ubuntu 2.5 and i want to install it from windows 7
when i start Wubi it begins installing and in the end it show me an error message : Could not retrieve the required installation files, and it give me a name of a file(debug) to open "wubi-9.10ubuntu1-rev160" in the temp folder , i put a picture explaining more the error message

Hello Bassia and welcome ! First,Are you trying to install Ubuntu Proper, Or Ultimate Edition 2.5, Ultimate Edition does not have a "Wubi" option and must be installed along side windows (VIA booting the live DVD) not in windows, Like Ubuntu proper.VIA Wubi. :ugeek: ;)

for the md5 cheksum thing, honestly i followed the guide and really i didn't understand how to check the file i downloaded, for JOHNNYG i downloaded the file named ultimate-edition-2.5-x86 which contains 2,96 Go and it has wubi included
can you show me how to find a solution please?

i tried but nothing, i dont know why, i used to install old version like 2.2 and 2.4 like this and it works normal, but now i dont know whats happening,


in the debug file i found this line : checking Ubuntu ISO C:\ubuntu\install\installation.iso

Bassia, Ultimate Edition 2.5 doesn't install through wubi, The file may be there but it is Inop. Some Ultimate"s in the past may have had a working wubi file, But TheeMahn has opted not to include a working wubi file, Do to issues with installation. :ugeek:

In years back have worked with Wubi....but the better is doing a dual boot install.....make sure your Windows is clean and have at least 20 gigs of hard space.....in Windows you might want to download this software and install...
http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1 it will repare your boot loader in windows...just in case something goes astray...
2.5 will find the free space you do have....same with the other versions of Ultimate Edition....just follow the menu....and your in...:)
