Cracking Sound

Help and support for Ultimate Edition 2.5

Cracking Sound

Postby Tango » Sat Feb 06, 2010 11:22 pm

I just installed 2.5. Since the installation I get a single cracking sound every 5 to 10 seconds coming through the speakers. I do not know if it is the OS or my sound card that is on the way out. Anybody had anything like this? Thanx.

Another possible fix (don't have an Intel card myself, so this helped...) and might do it if the above fix doesn't correct the error:

"Try adjusting the resample-method parameter in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf. Performance varies wildly based on audio controller. Various HDA users have reported that changing resample-method in daemon.conf (to at least ffmpeg or better) alleviates this symptom."
