UU2.5 desktop help needed

Postby marty6 » Sat Jan 23, 2010 1:57 pm

Hi,

I have been playing around with the appearance/settings and have a slight but probably fixable problem. I added some sort of menu which appears on the left side of the desktop. It's like a drop down menu. It has several tabs from "favorites" to "system". Is there a way to remove this menu? Also, on the upper right side of the menu bar, it has my user name displayed, but when I click on it the menu is different. It use to have hibernate, restart, etc... but now it has only account information, sys perferences, lock screen, and quit... is there also a way to fix this....

Sorry for posting this ... i'm still a noob at ubuntu

Appreciate any help on this!

You have installed, I think its called sidemenu or something like that, Go to synaptic click "status"bar then " installed ' and go over the list and see what you can find,if you should find it then "mark for removal" I have had that installed too, but I cant remember the name exactly ! AS for your you log out restart button, Right click the Upper task bar > Add to panel> " Indicator applet session " That should do it ! ;) :ugeek:

JOHNNYG,

Thank you for your help! I did find out what the "menu" was. It was Notebook menu. And, yes, the indicator applet session was it! Thank you again.
