that is what I did but it will go back to what is was when I update grub.......when it boots into grub I can edit it but I don't know how to save it from there. It will work with me editing the grub.cfg file until there is updates to the kernel or grub than it will go back to the way it was.

Ok after lots and lots of reading I figured this out . I went into /etc/grub.c and edited the *30_os-prober file

and I found the chainloader +1 and added set root=(hd1) which is my windows harddrive

esac

cat <<EOF
set root=(hd1)
chainloader +1

then I did update-grub and it changed my grub menu to have that set root line in it and it stay's there now......When i do grub update it still say's the drive isn't mapped but it works.
