Hi Johnny, then I'll share this with you;
I’ll list the specs because my signature will, hopefully, be changing soon
;
Gateway (yep the Toys R Us one!!) Intel Core Solo 1.86G, 2G Dual Channel DDR2 Ram
Graphics – integrated Intel GMA950 – 128MB Shared!!
If I push Compiz to the limits then, yes, I get issues. But;
Wobbly Windows fine.
Simpler window animations running, the complex ones such as airplane & fire stutter a bit.
3D cube enabled, transparent on rotation and ‘mouse rotates’ smoothly with multiple windows open even with a video window running!! If I deform the cube to sphere then I get tearing & stuttering but it still bloody works!
Skydome when animated causes a bit of stuttering so I don’t animate (works smoothly with no windows open, but then what good is that!).
All the fancy window switchers work.
Oh yeah, and all this is with Gnome Do dock running and Conky.
Sometimes I feel like shoving the thing in peoples faces and shouting ‘Look and what Linux can do!!’…… but I’ve been told that sort of behaviour is unacceptable.
I’d like to see a commercial O/S do all that, Linux rocks!
And Diablo10000 seeing as this is your thread I'd best say Hi..... 'Hi from England'...... Like Johnny said play around with your settings to see what your rig will cope with, I reckon you could get most of ya bells & whistles working.
