Ultimate Edition Forum

Hello, This is really strange, after I installed Ultimate Edition 2.5 I went to the appearance panel and received an error message that the theme would not look like it should because the Icons for 2.5 failed to load. I clicked on customize and were the 2.5 icons should be was a (?with the words 2.5 icons) In the appearance pref window the Icons for the 2.5 Gold and also the blue theme have blue horizontal lines running across them. I have all the updates installed,I restarted the computer several times. Today, I tried again and the Theme icons still have those blue lines across them, but I don't get the error message as the 2.5 icon folder is completely gone and the Ultimate Edition icon folder is selected.

Don't think it matters but this time I installed Ultimate Edition 2.5 on the Gateway. I have installed Ultimate Edition 2.5 on 4 other computers with no issues with the appearance pref.

Hi, you can try going to synaptic and search "ultimate edition" and reinstall 2.5, The icon set for 2.5 is Just "Ultimate Edition icons", A light blue semi-transparent collection, the ? is there for awhile until the set loads, let it set for a bit and see if it loads,as far as the lines through the preview I have those to and is more than likely due the size of the preview icon,and does not effect the performance of the Theme itself, or If that doesn't work un-install 2.5 via synaptic and reinstall TheMahn's 2.5.3_All.deb

I did the re-install from synaptic and things look okay, but the preview icon still has the blue lines.

Note that the other 4 installs on four other computers the preview icon is complete and without the blue lines. Funny that the most powerful computer I have would have the graphic issue?!?

Well as long as you have the main issue covered and under control, Might have to live with the obscure preview icon,it is interesting, how ever I have installed 2.5 about 10 times or more and always have had the goofy preview icons
