the only conclusion that i could come up with is that it is a bug in the grub loader.
I do have it installed right now,it installs great on a 2ogb , a 40 and a 60gb hd.I get boot corruption that effects the boot up and the filesystem in the partitions, somehow when i go to a larger hd..
I got it to install on my 80 gb,had to run thru the partitioning and install 3 times.,but a 120gb and 140gb and a 160gb hd i get the corruption in the ext4 filesystem and the boot goes back to the error i was getting. Then the only way to fix the hd is to do a low level format(or that was what i had to do-could be because i tried to install it different ways probably 40 times or more).
the 2.4 is not all that easy to install either.
But 2.3 and under does great.
