Happy Holiday to one and all.
The new guy's first post.
I just want to start off by saying that the only disappointing thing about Ultimate Edition is that it's not getting the hits per day it deserves.(source=DistroWatch)
A great distro made even better.
Top stuff.

This is what I have
HP DV3-2155mx
Intel Core2 Duo Processor T6500
800MHz system bus, 2MB L2 cache and 2.1GHz processor speed per core.
4GB DDR2 memory
LightScribe Multiformat DVD±RW/CD-RW (DVD+R DL)
500GB SATA hard drive (5400 rpm)
Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD up to 1759MB(shared)
Altec Lansing speakers with SRS Premium Sound
Touch media controls and HP Mobile remote
13.3" high-definition(1366 x 768) widescreen display
Built-in webcam
5-in-1 media reader
2 high-speed USB 2.0 ports
Built-in wireless LAN (802.11b/g)
Built-in 10/100Base-T Ethernet LAN

This is what I've done... So far.

Triple Boot

Win7 Ultimate(64bit) (well I have to be able to play Street Fighter IV on something.)

Mac OS X 10.5.7(if no one asks, I won't tell.)

Ultimate Edition 2.5( Karmic )( x86_64 )(I'm still geeking out at the beauty of it.)
NO SOUND!!!?
No problem.
After a quick search I found this.
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Sound
Updated ALSA
And this.
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1258788
And then opened /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf with
"sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf"
And inserted the following as the last line.
"options snd-hda-intel model=hp-dv5 enable_msi=1"
(just in case someone else has the same lappy/problem)
Google is my friend.

More searching got me this.
http://abbysays.wordpress.com/2008/05/2 ... on-ubuntu/
EVERNOTE 3.1.0.1225 installed with WINE, it won't play the cut and paste game in Firefox under *nix.
But it did when Firefox is installed with WINE.

and this.
http://www.linuxscrew.com/2007/09/19/in ... x-distros/
iTunes7.2 installed with WINE.
No play = no fun
I'll get back to you on this.

HP originally had the install/recovery disk of the OS(Vista Home Premium(64bit)) as an image in a separate partition.
just in case someone needed to restore it to it's factory fresh state.

Here is what I'm trying to do
Make a separate partition to store an image of a install disk and store snapshot backups automatically every time I power down any of the three systems.
Is this even possible?
What size should the partition be?
Is it possible to save a image of a pristine state as well as constantly save a updated state of each of them?
Is there a cross platform application for this?
Would it matter that the three are different file system types?
I'm confused by my friend Google when it comes to this subject.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

AND

In the spirit of the season and not to come to the party late and empty handed.
I have some g00G13 w4V3 invites to share.
If any of you are interested, please PM me.

Enjoy your Holiday.

Cheers.
