Darkchild: thats why I'm trying to do it with a 9.10 base build, but I'd like UU2.5 and this
I'll try talking to Mick of "micks Mix" and see if I can find the problem there, if what I'm trying in my last post dosen't work! THANK YOU, deeds3353 <BREW>

Ended up killing the 9.10, haha, My applications had nothing in it??
Oh well , trying AGAIN :?

HOOOOORAY!! :ugeek: :D :D :D
Put 9.10 on AGAIN, and kept trying using a mixture of the two sets of instructions and I got the Backtrack folder in my Applications :D BUT, the menu wouldn't work at all, kept getting the error messages.
Installed all the tools through Synaptics and ran the script again at the end and "EVERYTHING WORKS" :D
So now I can either A: Reinstall UU2.5 or B:keep everything as is and install the ultimate theme packs??
Just need to say in the end the "Micks Mix" DID work eventually but had to miss the proxy thing out and do the script (perl) once in the guide then once again at the end after a restart..
MISSION ACCOMPLISED <BREW>
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP <BREW>
Thanks again.......................................deeds3353 ;)

PS how do you slap a solved on this post?? 8-)

Currently Gerix Wifi Cracker NG is available and supported natively by BackTrack (pre-installed on the BT4 final version) and available on all the different Debian Based Distributions (Ubuntu, etc. ..).
The software requires: aircrack-ng , xterm , machchanger , zenity and obviously python-qt3 . The software requires: aircrack-ng, xterm, machchanger, zenity and obviously python-qt3. I can see your point , Cell but all I'm trying to do is bring to the atention the vunerabilites of wifi to my friends, family, and nieghbours.
I,m thinking of going into wifi security as I currently build and service PC's and that's another interesing challange for me to get my teethin!! ;)
All the Networks that I've "tested", Have had the owner next to me.,OK :!:
Well Thank You for your help and theres just one last thing, You helped me with a problem that I had with my laptop a few months ago, "UU2.3 Acer Aspire 6935g, No Sound";
viewtopic.php?f=64&t=3483
I,ve got the same problem and this sorted it out but ive got KDE and cannot install gedit.
Could you give me these two instructions but for something in KDE Please, Thanks Cell <BREW>

I just hope that one day I can help you, 8-) but I do what I can for other people as in our eyes "thats what linux is supposed to be all about, isn't it???" :D THANKS........deeds3353

Drop the link for the app download.I found 2 different links, and they have different files in the tar.One thing I should add is you have to be careful of other's tar files,or scripts.Like I said above if you use the app in synaptics its the same app...its just cl.Its not hard to use,and you will learn more like you said you desire too.

I see Texas Mike gave you instructions on how to install a tar...those instruction are correct. If it doesn't work then I would be wary of the the tar.

Also you have to make sure you have all the dependencies.

heres a deb for the app.just click on the link.

The link to "drop" was the download link, but I don't need it anymore. The link I gave you is for a deb.Just open it up,and it will install the app for you....no need to mess with tar files.
