There are various "gui-based" hash checking utilities but i usually use md5sum from the command line.
Jus cd into the directory where the file is. If its in your downloads folder you would do

cd /home/USER/Downloads
then check the hash
- Code: Select all
md5sum NAME-OF-FILE
This could take along time depending on file size and the speed of your comp.
Then just compare that with the md5sum of the original file (this is usually given on the download page).
