Cell, did it, working now, thanks... but I have an error icon near my clock that tells me there are broken packages.... Error: Broken Count > 0' this usually means that your installed packages have unmet dependencies.

APC, yeah, I clicked both.... figured I would install both at the same time... went back and just did adobe and it errored telling me there was a fatal exception...

Johnny, Thats what I was thinking... but I closed all windows and the only window there was the terminal like window with the agreement info... but nothing to click and agree on...

Want to take a minute here to give you guys a special heart felt thanks....
I have been apart of many many forums over the years, and most are over run with assmunches who think they are god, and get offended when you ask what they feel is a stupid question. You guys are taking time with me... I appreciate it. I really do. You understand that this is a completely new experience for me and it is kind of like being dropped into a country and not knowing the local language to me.

Hey, Glad to here you got it working ! Sorry I should have been more specific , You have to hit the "tab" key to bring up the "OK" box to accept the agreement, then a yes or no box should appear, then "Tab" again to set it to yes, Sorry my bad !

Kind of off topic here but I figure i will keep it here in this thread....

What is a keyring? I am trying to build my address book in Evolution, and I just got a pop up asking to allow application access:

Allow application access to keyring?
The application "Application" (/usr/lob/evolution/evolution-data-server-2.28) wants to access the password for "Desktop Couch user authentication" in the default keyring.

serpentine5,
I believe the "Key Ring" is a way the system can "access" your saved passwords without you having to re-type them every time. So, If I am correct, then you may allow this access as a form of convenience - basically just to allow the system to provide the password when needed for Administrative tasks.
Here is a copy of the description from Synaptic for the "gnome-keyring":

gnome-keyring is a daemon in the session, similar to ssh-agent,
and other applications can use it to store passwords and other
sensitive information.

The program can manage several keyrings, each with its own master
password, and there is also a session keyring which is never stored to
disk, but forgotten when the session ends.

And here is a Screenshot of that information and Synaptic:

Not running 64 so that doesnt apply does it?

Johnny,
I tried the installer... i get this:

I cannot make out what the last digit is that it is telling me to run inthe terminal. I tried 1 i l and it rejects all three...

As for the suggestion of booting to rescue mode and "repair broken packages", how do I do this?
