Help and support for Ultimate Edition 2.5

Firefox 3.5 and Adobe issues

Postby serpentine5 » Tue Dec 15, 2009 4:51 pm

I did some searching, but everything is looking outdated... for older versions of of Ultimate Edition...

I need to get Adobe plugin installed... I tried the automatic install and it failed.. so i tried the manual install but being a noob to linux I have not a clue... I am used to DLing an exe and executing it and that being all there is to it. But the manual install gives me five choices.
YUM for Linux
.tar.gz for Linux
.rpm for Linux
.deb for Ubuntu 8.04+
APT for Ubuntu 9.04+

I have not a clue what to do with any of these... I tried to do YUM but it wants to execute a program and this and that so i figured i would come here and ask for a step by step on getting this installed.

Thanks

If you are looking for Adobe Flash go to Applications-System Tools then Ultamatix. One you are in Ultamatix go to Web Browsers and you should see Adobe Flash Plugin, click on that and it should load and you are done. Enjoy

APC,
I tried it, but when i told it to install, it went to install something for SUN and just stayed there for over 30 minutes... I told it to cancel and nothing... I had to reboot to get it to stop.

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

serpentine5 is it possible that you checked the wrong box in Ultamatix? On my system there are 3 boxes under the category of Web Browsers, Adobe Flash Plugin, Java 6 browser plugin and vlc plugin. If it showed Sun I think that is associated with the Java 6 plugin. Hope that this helps.

Hi, when installing these functions you must agree to the terms , It is possible that the agreement window popped up behind your other open windows and and that is why it stalled ;)
