I will try to help you wit what i know.there is one beautiful program called bootice for windows which will show your current mbr and you can change it as you need to windows type or grub or other.
One more thing we usually forget about the pbr.by using this programI came to know the importance of pbr.its the pbr also changes when you install windows.ie,mbr is windows type but pbr specific for dos,xp,vista etc.sameway to work grub both mbr and pbr should be grub type.
One more thing if you change mbr to grub Type your drive wont get detected in dos.
I love bootice..such a wonderful program...thnx to pauly

After all these discussion i just wish to know two things mainly ie
1.if i clone the hard disk installation to my usb hdd, will it boot without any flaws(particularly hardware and driver problems when i plug into another pc and try to boot from usb hdd)
2.will unetbootin create a full working Ultimate Edition as internal hard disk installation?
I am particularly interested in generic portable Ultimate Edition
please help me..thanks in advance

Hi, If you clone your install to a USB hard drive or install to any external or internal device Ultimate Edition As well as any other distro will not be "portable" as it loads configuration for your machine and discards unused configurations for booting, In other words boot is configured to your hardware, But still has plug And play capability, And yes I do believe if you use unetbootin to a USB flash drive will allow you to plug in to any PC (that allows booting from USB or NETwork) and demo or install as you would with a DVD with the same architecture X86 or 64BIT. :ugeek:

Thanx johnyyg..ok.do you think is there method to make a full working Ultimate Edition portable.?nowadays even windows os can be portable by modifying some registry entries..then why dont we can.?
Its such a beautiful concept of a fully generic portable Ultimate Edition..
I am not an expert..
I think somebody will do it later.
Thanx mate

Ultimate Edition is portable along with a wide variety of other Linux OS's. Ultimate Edition is live dvd so yes thats what portable means, been able to use the os without installing it to you local disk. Just remaster your system with Remastersys and if there are additional stuff that you would love to add to the os, add it and remaster again. Simple as that.
