Thanks for the links. Have another question now. To access my wireless, I have to reactivate Broadcom STA Wireless Driver every time I start my laptop. I was use to connecting automatically upon start-up, and was wondering if there is a setting somewhere to initiate this. The file system in Ultimate Edition is different, so I am still trying to figure out where things are. That GNOME Do is rather helpful at this, but . . . .

Also, I am trying to xfer scripts, etc., from my windows version of gimp to the Ultimate Edition version, but trying to drag-and-drop, or cut-and-paste, says permission denied. I can remedy this in windows, but . . . . Any help on that?

Hello again. I believe I may have solved the problem with the wireless connection. I thinks so, we'll see.

I came across my first major issue yesterday. I had been personalizing the system -- so I thought -- and apparently I did something I should not, because I received the following errors on startup:

1. Could not update ICEauthority file/usr/lib/gdm/.ICE authority
2. There is a problem with the configuration server (/usr/lib/libconf2-4/config-sanity-check-2 exited with status 256)

With these errors I could not access the system. I ended up reloading the entire OS and here I am again. What I don't know is if it is something I did or something that perhaps I should have done. I haven't quit figured out what to do when the system freezes. It has done so a couple times, usually when accessing the internet -- think I figured that out -- and all I know to do is reboot. When the system shuts down and brings me to a screen with text commands, is there something I should type to get the system up again, or is the complete shutdown the only way? I am still familiarizing myself with the OS, but it's going to take a little getting use to.

Anyway, thanks for any help.

FYI: I've figured out how to copy files from one directory to another. Thanks again for links which eventually led me to the solution.
