D12879,
First, Welcome to Ultimate Edition, and welcome to our forums!
Now to your problem...
Did you use MD5SUM to verify the downloaded .ISO file? Did you use a speed of 4X or SLOWER when you burned the DVD? (please note that these versions will require a DVD and will not fit on a CD)
Here are the MD5SUMs for each version of Ultimate Edition 2.4 Gamers:
Release Name: Ultimate Edition Gamers
Version Base: 2.4
Environment(s): Gnome
Architecture: x64
Filesize: 4,030,230,528 (4.0GB)
MD5SUM: f048342826bcc7bf9986f36b18b48e0b
Download: Sourceforge
Release Name: Ultimate Edition Gamers
Version Base: 2.4
Environment(s): Gnome
Architecture: x86
Filesize: 4,260,241,408 (4.0GB)
MD5SUM: 31d61c4f93cc1121690bd289a68e37e5
You must verify the MD5SUM to insure the download is not corrupted and has no errors or you will never be able to burn a good copy. You can find a Windows version of the utility to check the MD5SUM of the download at this link:

It is just as important to burn the ISO file at the slowest speed your burner can achieve, preferably at or below
4x. I know some of the newer burners do not directly support speeds as low as 4X, so select the slowest speed your burner can achieve, or 4X if available.
BTW: could you post your system specifications in a signature file (see the User Control Panel to do this) to enable us to more easily answer any questions you may have or provide any assistance you may request....
