Hello all, so my question is similar to the original posters.
I wanted to have Ultimate Edition Gamers edition but unfortunately the Ubuntu 9.10 installer came with the ability to automatically read raid drives... I don't have my drives in a raid setup but it insists that I do. I have 2 500 gb wd hd's set to IDE, and my mobo is M3A32-MVP Deluxe Series. I know its not my hard ware because I have found numerous forums where people are having the same problem. Unfortunately their only solution is to stay at 9.04 and either wait it out or update. But when I updated, Ultimate Edition didn't start up. Also, it removed about 160 packets...
So is there a way to update directly to the gamers edition or do I have to manually install those packets?? Can I update from the Gamers DVD??
And for those of you interested in the raid problem here's what I figured out...
They had all (some) of the packets installed to allow the installer to read raid setups and install Ubuntu 9.10 (Ultimate Edition 2.4) on them. Unfortunately, when I tried to install as raid it still never installed properly. (and there's many forums with this problem to) If I removed dmraid and libdmraid packets I could see my IDE drives but I still couldn't create partitions to them because they were "in use by the file-system".
Thanks for your help, I dont meant to hijack this forum but it kinda relates.
