I just wanted to mention:
After installing UE2.4 I too was unable to use my wireless. I'd already installed the Broadcom driver that my laptop needed and the laptop could "see" the router. I was even asked to enter the WPA2 passphrase.
I walked in, powered off my wireless router and internet access device, and then repowered them. I walked back in to where my laptop was and connected via my wireless.
This was most likely because I had at the time been screwing around with my router's settings via my desktop, but anyone having problems should try power cycling their router and modem. It's quick and free, and sometimes it really is the simple things.
