With 2.3, I followed Amir's advice on what to change/add in order to improve my laptop's onboard Intel graphics performance. That process helped and I assumed that was the best I could hope for with such <BLEEP> hardware. My hopes were only that with 2.4, Karmic would have instituted that procedure so that I would not have to.
Not only did I not have to do what I'd done in 2.3, but going from UE2.3 to UE2.4 made a (comparatively) huge difference in my graphics performance. Still not a machine to game on but I am very happy with the improvement.
