To anyone still having a problem with sli:

No new info just making a report. I don't run sli, but I was recently ripping my hair out trying to help a friend out with his new GTS 250's. I then found this post: viewtopic.php?f=46&t=2396&start=10 and it worked like a charm. Might be old news to some, but to anybody still having trouble - give it a try. If your still having trouble, reply and I'll try to help.

You should do what you think is best ;) You know as well as I do you shouldn't get the newest hardware, and expect it to work with nix....I t might, but chances are it won't.Especially with a manufacture that gives crappy support.
Why do you need two cards?Do you game with M$ on the same machine? If thats the real reason then get the best gpu you can...

Hey Cell

What are you using to watch TV. I've been using VLC and that works fine, but I've never been able to get anything else to work (except something called TV Tuner, I think, but Ive never found it again). How about you?

I use tvtime. You can find it in synaptics. If Im using my box as a media center then Ill use mythtv,or xbmc(xbmc does not support tuners, but I've managed to use a script to plug myth into it.)

Tvtime is a good app tho.if you have an digital tuner there's metv also, but I haven't used that one.

I still use xp for gaming...there's nothing wrong with windows if you know how to keep it from bsd'ing.

I use Debian Lenny for gaming too.Its still uses the older xorg, and I can use ATI drivers in it.Its really stable to.
Like I said tho in karmic I can get decent frames with the opensource driver.

TVtime doesn't seem to see my card. I get "no signal" "cannot open capture device". Also I can't open the input dialog to change anything. Perhaps you have a different Happauge card. Do you use the ivtv drivers?
Thanks

No.I don't have to.I have the BT848 chip, and the driver is always compiled with the kernels.

But it looks like you do need it...

least you know it works ;)
