office wont launch-[SOLVED]

i have just "stupidly" upgraded?? from 2.3 to 9.10. all went ok however when i want to use office in any form it loads but wont launch. i'm told the app is running but no display whatsoever :( not sure what to do here. BTW i cant wait for 3.4 to come as i will be installing it so fast it would make a cheetah looks like a snail.

Hello witblits1970.

Did you open terminal and update/upgrade your system?
Did you have install back Ubuntu Tweak?
Did you have install back the flash player + Java?
Did you install back the MS fonts?
you have to remember that canonical close all the 3party as Default,
So open all back again,then you will have to delete from synaptic all the U.E repo's.
And add some back again.
Then see in synaptic what about open office,and install back all your packages.
Hop that you have follow the post of the upgrade from 2.3 to 9.10.
Then you wold understand that is not so small mess :?

Just run it in a terminal,and see what the error is...

Did you update to karmic?Just wondering cause sometimes it won't install lang. packages if you do.

You can just see if theres a OO english lang. package in synaptics.
