Ya use synaptics to uninstall, and then look for the wine folder and delete it.Then install it again.

If your getting borked fonts in wine then you probably need to install the font.

my personal suggestion is to find a program in linux that does whatever your tring to install in wine
i like brasero for burning dvds
k9 copy is like dvd shrink
k3b is similar to nero
i found myself trying to rely on my old windows programs when i first started with linux [none of which really worked correctly]
only to find out that the programs i needed where already on my pc
if you tell me exactly what u are tryin to do i might be able to help
are you tryin to take avis mpgs and mpgs and transcode them to vts format to play a dvd on your home dvd player?

to create a vcd or svcd which will play on any dvd player i use brasero
if you want a dvd use avidemux or handbrake to create files then burn with k9copy
by the way, no reason to get snippy just tryin to help
most files i get in 700mb range so its cheaper and easier to burn vcd
taking a 700mb avi and turning it into a huge 4.4 gig file does not improve quality at all
if you have a ps3 or xbox 360 you can just burn data files to disc these consoles support divx avi and mpegs
devede works great iwould give that a shot
