My next suggestion to you would have been along the lines of number 6 in your post, as I had a similar issue installing Mac OSX a while back - but then all the points mentioned could also have been the cause.

Hmmm....2 different pc's with different hardware,and same problem.




Bad burn,or bad download.


If you have a usb stick of about 3 or four gigs you can put it on there to,and install an os.


I do know if you have the smaller drive cables (ide one's I think) you will have problems.But you mentioned sata...
