This is crazy, we are talking about a Ethernet connection and not wireless, why do I need to log into my modem/router, I cant even get on the web, with the RJ45 cable plug into my laptop, I know the RJ45 port work , because once I boot into windows 7 i am on-line, why why I am in Ultimate Edition 2.3 i cant get a wired connection, it seem as if the system has turn off the RJ45 port and it will not wake up. Can some one with this issue who have gotten it solved please share what you have done to correct this issue.

That is not correct!
Code: Select all
Mask:255.0.0.0

you have to change the address to:
Code: Select all
Mask:255.255.255.0

and if you can log in to your modem/router,
Admin=user
Admin=pass

change your connection to DHCP.

auto etho connection
=eth0
wireless=eth1.
So you have network on the eth0.
and you want to configure the wireless network right.
So please let me have your modem/router name and Number.
to get the log in process to the modem/router to see it visual O.K?

trillseeker welcome to U.E Forum.

This is crazy

O.K here is some things to look at with your network.
1- to log into your modem/router you do not need network,
you just log in to application.
OR with= 10.0.0.138
OR with= 192.168.0.1
OR with=127.0.0.1

just write the Address in the search bar up in FireFox and Enter.
Then you will see the log in of the modem/router that need user+pass.
user=admin
password=admin

after you log in to the modem/router look for the DHCP option and make
you wired connection DHCP-ON.
save and EXIT the DHCP configuration.
restart your machine.
one more thing is your Firewall see if your provider is not blocked,
or install Firestarter (you have HOW TO configure and install the FireWall)
in the HOW TO section.
