Okay yeah, So that's helpful, but I got 11 buttons. Pressing them in xev they don't do anything . How do I add the buttons? Then how do I program them?

Take a look at the package lomoco. Currently they are in the middle of a rewrite, so your progress may vary on the MX Revolution. Although if you grab the latest source for their git repo, your luck may fare better. I do know that some of the MX Revolutions capabilities are lined out in the proof-of-concept folder and battery reporting and reconnecting appear to be there, but not sure what else may be. Take a look at the .c files in that folder and see if there is anything that may be what you are looking for. I've been messing around with g_hack.c for a little while since I recently got a Logitech G7 mouse.

Other than that, you'll have to do alot of reading in that thread to see if there is another way to achieve your desired results. xev doesn't recognise the speed/cruise control buttons on my G7 so lomoco is the only current solution for those buttons and probably the same with you too. xev should recognise at the very least 5 buttons(left/middle/right/wheelup/wheeldown).

I already have it installed. Where do I find it. I'm reinstall it just in case it updates itself.

Open up a terminal and type:

lomoco --help

It will list a ton of options you can use.

Resently hand to reset (reboot, clean install) Linux and after doing so the mice buttons work correctly. Hopefully my travel mouse won't be any problem

Alright now. How do I go about customizing other buttons on Linux. I have 4 more button to custom. Search button will currently bring up 'Search for Files'. The side 3 buttons do nothing. I trying out 2 programs: easystroke (which I can't figure out how to change the buttons commands with, I don't think there's a way to). Also trying Btnx (which I can't get to install).

I check that out, but it seem old now cus most of the button they talked about already work now. Trying to change what each button does tricky.

HOOT I figured something out. The "search" button on my MX is a keyboard command so I disabled it and now I'm trying to reprogram a new command that will be triggered on the "search" button. hmmmmmm? what would be the command to make it the enter button.
Still haven't figured this out

When I disabled it it'll bring up a search in the file browser now.

That is a good read with lots of info. It's similar in nature to the other process. I tried it long ago and it worked fine also except for the cruise control buttons on my G7. I now have a Logitech Performance Mouse MX and xev does recognise all buttons.
