Ok really what i reccomend now is to do a clean install of Ultimate Edition 2.3 and try the alsa fixes we have posted

Yeah I've been looking that. Probably will reinstall it today. I love how I bought the one computer that doesn't work with linux out of the box. :lol: Everywhere I look on the web Dv6-####%% no sound.

my mate once had a laptop a lg ls70 express and i installed ubuntu hardy on it long story short took me about a month to fix the sound i installed OSS 4.0 thats why i told you

after i fixed it my mate said put windows xp back on :evil:

ha ha ha that's funny well this is my 8th install (would be 7 but I misspelled my login name). I only get sound with Creative OSS On Gnome I can get it working (haven't gotta on x yet but I'm on KDE right now and I can't select OSS I guess it's gotta be installed. ANYWAY I'll doing a WHOLE mess of post now. For now no sound threw the laptop speaker will be something I'll careless about until I really need it on the go. :P

Did you try to change the input of the USB Creative Sound Card.?
not in the side,connect to the back input.

You mean moving it around? Pluging it into another USB. Yeah doesn't fix it though.

I would like to report to everyone now I'm using 9.10 and I not only got sound from my laptop speakers but I got sound to my xFI card. I LOVE THIS I LOVE THIS.
