Strange Font - SOLVED

Hello - First time Ultimate Edition user and enjoying this fine distro. Whenever I open a new tab in Firefox, the description of the open tab, shown in the lower panel, is followed by an E with a tilde. I cannot figure out how to include a screenshot - sorry.


I would appreciate learning why this is and how to get rid of it.
