The war is not here, you have nothing to worry about if it was personal you would not be here.

Hiya, have downloaded ultimate edition 2.3 most of it works awesome, but i am having troubles with many of the games i have added on like nexuiz, sauerbraten , and warsow. games seem to install, begin to load, then lock up the whole computer. My computer is a amd 64bit 3400+ 1gb ram, ati x1300 256mb . Then, i decided to download the 2.3 gamers dvd. It took a day, and when i burnt it, at finalizing it said corrupt files were present. It boots okay, but i have yet to try installing it, if the games won't work. Any help?

You did the obvious md5 checksum & burnt at a slower speed - didn't you?.

even then, for me, I have troubles getting a working copy of any version of Ultimate Edition.
- persistence is the key.
& I do get there, eventually.

Hello finroger. Welcome to the land of Ultimate Edition. Its good to have you here ;)

Sorry to heard about yours troubles. I will suggest that you try redownloading the image file from a different mirror from the one you originally downloaded the image from. If not the problem good be a faulty network cable ect. If you have a friend or family member that has a Internet connection you could "use" or ask them to download the image that would be good, a recommendation will be to do a md5 checksum on the image when you have successfully download the image!!

Best regards

I have similar problems but games just do not fire up at all & I am fully aware of what my problem is it is my Video card. AMD ceased support for yours and my card. I am kind of in a pickle myself I have 2 of them. If someone knows of a solution I am unaware of please inform. I can only use the open source not restricted drivers. Do you also have this issue? Not my fault, not yours, but AMD's & I love AMD. I feel the worst thing they did was buy ATI, but this is just my opinion.

I have even tried multiple times re-compiling my own, only to fall to failure.

Sorry brother,

I heard that 9.10 Karmic solved the ATI drivers in a way.

I tried installing Karmic daily build yesterday, i get no usplash only a black err blank screen. Finetuch is thinking over trading me one of his NVidia 9800 GT's for both of my ATI's. I will never buy another ATI video card again.

Sure the HD cards work. The ol ladys NVidia card is older then mine & is still supported. Don't make me put a rant & rave section on Main ;)

They are still supported...somewhat.I just loaded a new driver for xp(I really don't know what the changes were).I wonder if it will trickle down to linux.Probably not.

Thee like you I am a hardcore ATI guy,but now I'm looking into other options for my next build. The question is with all the hybrid graphics being implicated will linux still get support?
