The servers capacity is phenomenal, I didn't even bother to set up a torrent it is that fast, 15 Terabytes of transfer in roughly 2 days twice the capability of downloadubuntusoftware.info's monthly transfer in a day so I guess that means it is 60 times faster. Can you say petabytes, at that rate monthly would be 210 TB a month really pushing a new envelope. I know the demand is there, I selected the hosting company the most expensive of the "top 10", I now understand why. I took the time to research "connectivity" of them and that is how I learned about what they call "The Planet". Simply phenomenal is all I can say.

Over 15 Terabytes spit out ;)

Let me explain what "The Planet" is. When I upload a release to my server it is instantly mirrored across 6 servers located throughout the US. So in a sense there are 6 fat pipes that are feeding Ultimate Edition users. Concurrent connections also a problem I have had in the past & have been shut down by godaddy in the past for exceeding this value with the current hosting company would also be multiplied by 6. Godaddy I believe to be 200 concurrent connections ie 200 downloads at a time. What ever the concurrent connections are with the new hosting company it must be plenty.

Hello, While it is possible to do an upgrade to 2.3, you really should back up any data from your "HOME" folder and then do a fresh install of 2.3. It is safer and will avoid causing errors that you may or may not be able to fix.

If you are happy with 2.2, there is no reason to go with 2.3, as it is basically the same Jaunty OS with the ability to use KDE instead of Gnome. It does have a different theme but you can download that and install onto the 2.2 you have. KDE is more of a "windows" look and feel which is not what I want, I am trying to stay away from windows as much as possible.

If you need more info, please ask.

Most people here advise a fresh install. A pain, but worth it.
