Need help here,,

My XF86 Audio Raise Volumex and Lower Volume won't work, even other buttons (such as brightness or sleep) is working correctly.

Any idea? actually, I'm a newbie 'bout this stuff

Make sure you have Volume [Mute/Up/Down] in Keyboard Shortcuts mapped to the matching XFAudio command key. Then Open up System -> Preferences -> Sound. Whatever you have selected for Sound Events-Sound Playback at the top you must select the same thing below under Default Mixer Tracks - Device (for me it's HDA Intel (Alsa mixer)). Then in the list box below that select the device you want to control (probably Master, but you can shift-select multiple)

I'm using the AlSA - Advanced Linux Sound Architecture right now.
but when I'm trying to test the HDA Intel ALC286 Analog (ALSA), this message appears :

audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink: Could not open audio device for playback.

is something wrong w/ my system? or is it just normal?

I get a similar (could be the same, but I'm not on my machine) message with my external Creative sound card, even though it seems to be working fine.
If your's is working then I, personally, wouldn't worry about the message..... 'If it aint broke, don't fix it'

If you had a program using sound at the same time it will pop up with that message usually if it poped up at me i restart my comp and it goes away
