[Errno 5] input/output error (SOLVED)

i have been all over this forum and google trying to find away to get his to install but i have not had any luck i keep getting this error when trying to install ultimate edition 2.2 i have tryed to install it on to other hard drives and have made i don't know have many cd's and still not luck it will not go past 27% on the install i have all so try other dvd drive i don't get why this is happen i have tryed just about everything i have found on the internet i have been able to get ubuntu 9.04 to install and other distributions

when you start the installation-after you have chose the lang:

press f4 and chose with the up down keys:

Then ENTER.

see if it works for you.

yes i have i have try 2 other hard drives and other dvd/cd drive i have also install Ubuntu and Backtrack on both hard drives just fine i have tryed just about everthing i can think of

Hello Sadistic.

I can think about 2 option with the errors that you have post here.
1- the disc was burn not good.
2- please download parted magic,and burn it to disc.
then format your drive to - unallocated-apply the changes.
Image

delete all the partition that you see on your HDD,
then see the pic,apply the changes in edit upper left.
then try again to install the U.E on your machine.

I think you have an option to check the disk in the boot screen(where it say try it without installing).did it check out o.k.?

Hi cell and Sadistic .

My Q is with what software did you burn the ISO?
for me it looks like bad burn of the ISO,and if you have burn
the ISO with Linux(k3b),you did not mark the over burn option.
If you have burn with MS-that can be the problem of the bad burning.

can you try one of the free software here to burn the ISO,
and low the speed burning to half speed.

well amir i try the parted magic and did what you said and this time it did not error out untill 32% that it the first time i got that far but it still errored so i am going to try and reburn the cd with other software i have been burning then with poweriso on windows vista so now i am going to try alcohol 120

Guys would just like to say think for all of your help i still could not get it to install the right way so what i did is i just hooked the hard drive up to a usb adapter and installed it form my desktop so i am guessing it has something to do with my dvd/cd drive for the laptop but it is install now and thanks again
