Shutdown

When i shutdown for the day.... after a few seconds the screen goes blank and has a plinking dash mark in the top left hand side of the screen....and nothing else happens... the computer doesn't power down

Hello ChrisJL. Welcome to the Ultimate Edition Board.

ChrisJL, to tell you the truth, one million things could case the problem that your having to happen. Example "System upgrade, a failing hard drive, faulty hardware etc" What kinda of operations/task where you doing before the machine decides not to shut down properly. Is it a case where as, you have files on the partition to backup? because if there is nothing there to backup, I would just recommend you doing a fresh installation!!
