I have a question on installing in Windows

Postby surfzombie » Fri Jun 19, 2009 12:06 am

First off I just want to thank you TheeMahn for all your hard work and efforts. I have been with you since the very first version. You are the Bomb! I am just a simple user and don't know anything other than I love your work. My Quest is. I usually install inside windows now that we can and was wondering while I am using a 32 version of xp can I install the 64 bit version of Ultimate Edition or do I need to stick with the 32 bit version and is there a big difference between the two? 8-)

There is not reason why u cant do it, after all its the same (of course ur CPU need to be 64 bits) but everything else its the same.
The look its equal, and almost everything too, but its more safe, has more qualities, can work with more memory & space, if u had a x64, just do it :)

hmm... if u using 64bit processor like AMD athlon or phenom or maybe opteron .... u can install 64bit Ultimate Edition 2.2 inside 32bit w*****s ...

different ?

64bit better (for me). example : if u using 4Gb or ram or 8gb... thats 64bit OS can detect it all
32bit os can not detect full of your memory
64bit running faster than 32bit ...

Dummy me. I should have told you that I am running an AMD 64 X2 4000+ with 2 gig of memory. Are all the restricted drivers for playing my dvd available in the 64 bit version?

If your are referring to ultamatix, it is built into 2.2. Look under system tools or in gnome do type "ultamatix" and press enter. You dont necessarily have to type the whole name before it shows up and you can just press enter when it does.

I'm sorry I mean the alternate way to install the restricted drivers... Also is libdvdcss2 built into Ultimate Edition, or do I have to dig it up?

Let's not get carried away here  First give us the specs of your graphics...is it integrated or an add on card, nVidia, ATI, or intel...all require different drivers....post this info, and we'll see about getting you going
