Hello Mazal, you just mentioned that the app I suggested "Camera" can see that your camera is attached but the wrong model. So LINUX is not your problem in that it can see that your camera is attached, (when you were using the Camera app) so Camera must have some driver that can see your camera but if your camera is very new there isn't possible any open source driver for it yet. HP is using Linux in several of its products and they seem to be a "open source friendly company". So, don't give up, and try any app that can import files from a camera. I use Synaptic search all the time to try out new things that might work better than what I have installed at the time.

Checked in there , but nothing that helps. Only option I might try is to change it to ptp mode , but the thread doesn't say how to do that.

I believe you do it on your camera......Just like it says in the thread I posted.

Already tried gphoto2 early this morning. It doesn't work. Same as with other apps it can't see anything as the camera is not mounted.

I'm just gonna wright this off as yet another thing Linux can't do , stopping me from doing a full migration to Linux.

How did you get gphoto2 to work sense its a cli app?

Also don't be so dramatic. If you don't want to continue this thread then just say so....Write/or email your camera manufacture, and ask them for a linux driver. Its their fault its not plug and play.Do you have Vista windows?Im curios to know if it works there too.

With that said..DO you wish to continue?I have a couple of tricks up my sleeve.
