With a card reader, you can connect your media without having to worry about compatibility of any specific camera. Here's some options:

Plug in your camera, turn it on,and the open a terminal up.Type this...

Code: Select all
lsusb

If you see your camera then its mounted.
or try...

Code: Select all
dmesg

and see if you can see your cam.Report back then we can work from there ;)

lsub shows my camera. But explorer says it can't mount it.

dmesg shows a ton of info that I don't understand

Explorer?this ain't windows man :D

Look close at the dmesg. You should be able to see your cam somewhere in there. If you want you can past it here.

Well its good that the system can see it.Now we have to figure out how to tell it what to do with your cam.

Quick question....Are you using the internal memory on your camera,or storing the pics on a card?I ask because there is no driver for you camera in linux...But if you use a card for storage it might be possible to still get your system to recognize it as a drive.
