If you already have it installed on the flashdrive, then it may be you just need to boot into Ultimate Edition, plug in the flashdrive, start 'Partition Editior', select the flashdrive, right click on the paftition, select 'Manage Flags', and check 'Boot'...

The one immediate benefit I can see of creating a DVD to do the install is that, once you can boot from the DVD, you will two different choices for install methods: Unetbootin, and USB Drive Creator. USB Drive Creator also allows you to reserve space on the drive to save settings to.
