cool, ubuntu tweaks fires up but doesn't want to install java, I figure that may be my dilemma with flash, I believe it needs java to function...

think I have java gone at least its not broken and I have no broken dependencies, what is the command line input for a sudo apt-get install?

last version I used was 1.8 x64 and I think automatix installed everything I need for the web, java, flash and win32s...

its really all I need with the exception of figuring out why firefox wont dload cuz its determined the disk is full, well its not, 133 gigs on the home partition alone, least of my worries..

something installed the latest ATI catalyst control center software from AMD so I'm not really wanting to reinstall.. its a bad ass AGP card 512 megs, 256bit, haven't tried the hdmi out yet but it prolly works.. :o

something installed 8.54.3, the latest is 9.4 which I would like to install but I struggled with it cuz it says you need 32 bit packages installed with no information where to get them or how to install them...

for now this is prolly one of the fastest AGP machines around, its only an e6600 CPU but man it screams, zero bottlenecks processing web material, ZAP! everything is loaded! prolly only a 40% bog while ripping and burning DVDs...

sure would like to get a hold of the 3.0 extreme dual core from Intel the max this board will support, but they still go for about $600 used... :shock:

right, root is almost full, guess 6 gigs was not enough...

I am going to reinstall due to the simplicity and quickness, I have 133 gigs dedicated for 2.1 how are you guys setting up partitions? I went like this;

/ 6000mb <--mountpoint
swap 6000mb
/home 100000mb

all on an extended partition using ext3 file sys...
