I bought - on sale, and mostly for fun - a HP Mini N2133DK.

I comes with XP and of course I don't want that - it's very slow
I made a stick with UNetbooting of Ultimate Edition 2.1 and tried booting from it - that don't work :!: :!: It crashes when the status-bar reaches apx.80%
Then I tried with Ubuntu 9.04 beta 4, and every thing works out of the box, so now I just wait for Ultimate Edition 2.2 :D

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't...Take an Ultimate LiveDVD with you to the store and load'er up!

I don't think there are very many net-books with DVD-drive
Uffe

It depends on what you call well. Ultimate will run on 384 megs of ram. If you are doing the basics like web surfing, listening to music, emailing people and all your hardware is supported then you will be fine for that. If you are planning on encoding video or playing high end games you will be seriously hampered. Download and install and see what happens. What have you got to lose but time........ If you google your hardware(video, audio and ethernet) and intrepid you will be able to get info on what hardware is supported and what issues, if any, and workarounds people have come up with. If you use Windows a useful tool is this:
http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php
It will give you all the info on what is under the hood.
Systems Windows XP Pro 32 bit & various Linux in Virtual Box and VMWare Player
