Are you using Compiz, and when it starts in the fullscreen mode and you press F11 to get it back to normal what "mode" is the maximize/unmaximize button in? (ie the window set to maximized or unmaximized) knowing these things will help me better answer and hopefully solve your dilemma

when i load FF the "mode " is unknown till i hit F11 twice to get the screen back to normal. when it is back the screen shows a maximised screen mode.
oops i do use compiz

Alright here's two things to try, one, the other, or both should fix your problem, the first one I'd try is open Compizconfig Setting Manager and got to "Workarounds" then untick the box next to "Legacy Full Screen Support" if that doesn't work then try going to "Window Decoration" in Compizconfig Settings Manager and in the box next to "Decoration Windows" replace what's there with:
Code: Select all
(any) | class=Firefox
then close CCSM and open again, return to "Window Decoration" and replace
Code: Select all
(any) | class=Firefox
next to "Decoration Windows" with
Code: Select all
(any) | title=trans
close CCSM and log out then back in and firefox should be back to the way you like it. if it doesn't work then I'll keep looking to see what I can figure out
