ultamatix question

Postby points » Sat Apr 04, 2009 12:37 pm

So , I've been doing a bit of reading .. just enough to get into trouble .. I wanted to get the flash and youtube working .. so I thought I'd go with ultamatix . one of the first things I see is a package for compiz , so I of course install ... after a bit it gives me a box with choices , and being a newb I figured I'd best stay with default ..N.
it sat with the please wait for for abour 45 min .. then I pressed cancel ...waited for another 20 minutes or so ..
and figured ok ..when all else fails change it's attention with a reboot ... went back into ultamatix .. and tried to install a few programs .. keep getting same error .. hmm wonder what I broke ?

Don't think you broke anything :) I can't install those two either.
If you're afraid you have broken packages, use Synaptic to check it.
BTW - did you get flash to work ? if not, look here http://forumubuntusoftware.info/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=2805&start=10

check them all except for google. Then try again.
Or install quickstart and use it.
http://quickstart.freeforums.org/quicks ... cs-t2.html
Or use synaptics.
They are all apt based so if you use all three it wont install the same apps over each other. It will only install what you don't have. This how I did it on my system, and I didn't have go in a terminal or install any special repo's.I also used ubuntu tweak(already installed with Ultimate)

heres a good info site:
http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/index
It also has flash how to's

edit:mine will look different from yours.
