Thanks for correcting that Angel ...

Banyon wrote:I am a Linux noob and am attempting to install Ultimate 2.1 alongside XP. I have a Windows partition (NTFS) prepared for the install, but it appears Linux will not install on a NTFS partition.

When I get to the "Prepare disk space" part of the install, I choose Manual so I can choose where I want to install Ubuntu. I choose my partition but receive an error message when I click Forward: "No root file system is defined. Please correct this from the partitioning menu."

I don't know what this means? How do I fix this?

Thanks in advance!
Unless you want to install Ultimate as a Virtual Machine inside Windows, you can't install Ultimate in the same partition as XP. And are you trying to install 'Ubuntu' or "Ultimate Edition" ??

To install as in the subject of your post, Google "ubuntu dual boot" .. or http://users.bigpond.net.au/hermanzone/
