Upgrade to Jaunt 9.04 boot menu problems

Help & support for Ultimate Edition 2.1

Upgrade to Jaunt 9.04 boot menu problems

Postby sedge » Sun Mar 22, 2009 9:54 am

Hi
I have U.E 2.1 KD installed as my main O.S on hda (300 gb ) I also have U.E 2.1 KDE on hdb (80gb).
I upgraded hdb to Jaunty 9.04 using alt-f2 update-manager -d this upgrade appears to have worked.
But Jaunty 9.04 does not appear in the boot menu if I choose Intrepid 8.10 hdb it appears to boot jaunty on hdb

1 How can I tell the version that has booted on hdb?
2 How do I get Jaunty to show in the boot menu?
I abandoned windoze some time ago.
My machine is home built from bits and pieces I have bought cheap.
My next project is to update the bios and install a dual core opteron

I discourage people from upgrading. A clean install is the best way to go.
n.b. If you are planning on flashing your bios do it using a floppy drive if possible. If your flash goes bad you will be buying a new motherboard(I know-I had a bad flash one time and had to throw out a 150 buck sli motherboard).

Howdy sedge,..there hasn't been any version of Ultimate built on Jaunty released yet...I can assure when Thee has it ready (and working perfectly as is his standard of a release) it'll be out...

'Is there U.E Jaunty I can download?'
Jaunty is still in testing by Ubuntu. I believe it will be official sometime in April. Look for Ultimate a week or two after that.
If you want a sneak peak at Jaunty here you go: http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/jaunty/alpha6

:P OHHH Ultimate Edition with ext4 and much more from 9.04 i cant wait! I'm really thinking im turning into linux junkie! After switching to linux (11/2008) I used Super Ubuntu, Opengeu 8.04, Aristix, Ubuntu Studio 8.10, Ultimate Edition 1.8, 2.0 32BIT, Then i went 2.0 Gamers after reading posts about 64BIT i went to 2.0 64BIT and now 2.1 64BIT! Now i can't wait to have the Ultimate Editon with Ubuntu 9.04!! So that makes me reformatting HDD all the free time i have! The 2.1 is great!! I think much better than 2.0 For me. Does anyone know what the name will be? Ultimate Edition 2.2?

Forum police, and nettiquette in general as far as i know. At least that's what I learned from the guy who got me started. I wouldn't exactly call it disrespectful in all cases. We yell to get noticed, or to convey importance of what we're saying. Sometimes though, we yell cuz we're angry. IS THAT F#$^ING CLEAR?!?!?!? LOL...., oh, yea, sometimes we're just laughing loudly (LOL) vs a chuckle (lol) (maybe, i'm taking it too far there, but that's the way I see it.) No disrespect intended here, just contributing to the conversation. <BREW>
