Do you mean the font? Have you tried "Scribus"??? I don't know personally, but Scribus is a desktop publisher...or perhaps gimp???

ubuntu-restricted-extras includes some of the ms fonts. There are font installer programs for Linux, but you will have to look for them. Try Synaptic first, and then google. Don't forget they must be .deb files and relatively recent preferably either intrepid or Debian etch builds. You can try the Debian website or Getdebi. You may find something useful there. Good Luck!!

I would have been a bit easier if the filetype was posted too. ;)

Will you tell yours friends to stop sending you stuff in weird formats. Is this stump the panel time, or what?
How about .txt or .xml(something normal). Is this just an English thing? The rest of the world uses excel, word, abiword, gnumeric, powerpoint etc. How about notepad? Available with Windows and Linux(Wine).

Howdy wit..I don't know how savvy your friend is...but anyway...somewhere on the installation disc's there should be a file viewer (something like Corel use to inlcude in their pkgs) that they could send you so you can open their file...I use to make slide slows/presentations with Corel and I would save it to include the viewer so all they had to do was start the file and it would play...
